Welcome on webside of hydrological model SMODERP

Welcome to the website of the hydrological model SMODERP

The model has been developed over the long term by an author's collective at the Department of Hydromeliorations and Landscape Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, and also involves colleagues from the Department of Geomatics and the University of Chemistry and Technology.

  • SMODERP is a physically oriented model that determines the degree of erosion risk based on the hydrological balance and the calculation of surface runoff flow.
  • SMODERP 2D is a spatially distributed version of the model. The model is created for GIS platforms QGIS and ArcGISPro.
    • Its use is in accordance with the Methodology for Erosion Protection (Podhrázská, 2023) and previous methodologies.
  • SMODERP Line is a profile version that allows calculations to be run on a remote server.
    • Its use is fully in accordance with TP 53 (Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic) - Erosion protection measures on railway slopes.
  • The model works with openly available data provided by the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping, and Cadastre (ZABAGED - topography and altimetry), soil data, and precipitation scenarios available on Rain@Fsv.

Model Development

The development of the model as under GPLv3 licence and source code is carried out on the GitHub platform in the repository of the The Department of Landscape Water Conservation.
